Rule-based eligibility
Off Premise Permissions
Off Premise Permissions (OPP) give you a smart, rule-based way to manage what students are allowed to do inside or outside of school grounds. Create a permission, define the conditions, and let the system do the work for you.
How it works
As an admin, you create a permission and attach a set of rules to it. When a Campus Aide or staff member scans a student's ID using the iPass Viewer app — or looks them up manually — the system instantly checks whether that student meets all the conditions for that permission. The result is clear and immediate.
Accepted
Student meets all rules — proceed.
Denied
One or more rules failed — access blocked.
A real-world example
What you can do with OPP
Off Premise Permissions are completely flexible. Create permissions for any situation your school manages:
- Off-campus lunch
- Early dismissal
- Campus entry and exit
- Event attendance
- Any other situation where student eligibility needs to be verified quickly
The verification flow
- 1A Campus Aide or staff member opens the iPass Viewer app
- 2They scan the student's ID QR code or enter the student's information manually
- 3The system automatically checks the rules you defined for the permission
- 4The app instantly displays Accepted or Denied — no guesswork, no manual lookups
